Its branches are like paulownia, and its leaves are as big as walnut leaves. It blooms in autumn and is red like camellia, yellow pistils and flowers. The film is very thick, the room is very complicated, and the side is compared. It is as strong as a fist, with cotton in the reality, and son in the cotton." Zou Lao used kapok to treat dysentery, intestinal diarrhea, hemorrhoid bleeding and other patients with dampness and heat, and received good results.
Kapok used to treat dysentery, senior physicians have long known. "Materia Medica Seeking the Original" contains kapok "the red one removes red diarrhea, the white one treats white diarrhea, and it is often drink with Wuyue tea. The TCM syndromes of dysentery are mostly of the large intestine damp-heat type. However, long-term disease will be deficient, and some patients who have turned into chronic cold-deficiency dysentery will also have damp heat in the inside. Damp-heat dysentery is treated with 30g of kapok and honeysuckle, cotton-yinchen, tianxianglu, jindiluo, and pulsatilla. For chronic cold dysentery, 30g of kapok mixed with Codonopsis, Atractylodes, dried ginger, roasted licorice or mixed with Buzhong Yiqi Decoction is quite effective.
