Purslane, also known as longevity vegetables, five elements grass, etc., is cold in nature, sweet and sour in taste, enters the heart, liver, spleen, large intestine meridian, can clear heat and detoxify, cool blood to stop bleeding. It is commonly used for fever, blood dysentery, carbuncle swollen furuncle, eczema, erysipelas, snake and insect bites, blood in the stool, hemorrhoids, and uterine bleeding. In modern times, it is mostly used to treat dysentery, acute and chronic enteritis, arthritis, cystitis, urethritis, etc. The following describes the methods of purslane treatment of common diseases as follows:
Indigestion: Take 30 grams of purslane, 9 grams of betel nut, 5 grams of black medicine and decoct in water.
Dysentery and diarrhea: Take 60 grams of Portulaca oleracea and 30 grams of Honeysuckle Vine, decocted in water, one dose a day for one week.
Viral hepatitis: Take 100 grams of fresh purslane, or 30 grams of dry product, decoct in water and warm it with honey, twice a day.
Heat ulcer: Take 60 grams of fresh purslane, decoct in water, apply appropriate amount of purslane for external use, pound and apply to the affected area.
Herpes zoster: Take 100 grams of fresh purslane, mash it into a paste and apply it to the affected area. Change it twice a day. Wash the affected area with salt and tea until it is cured.
Burns and erysipelas swelling and pain: 60 grams of fresh purslane and 60 grams of pericarp, smashed for external application, several times a day.
Acute appendicitis: Take 100 grams each of Portulaca oleracea and Dandelion, decoct them twice with water, concentrate to 200 ml, and take them twice a day with 100 ml each time. 3 to 5 days is a course of treatment.
Trichomonas vaginitis: 120 grams of fresh purslane, 30 grams of Cnidium, 30 grams of Sophora flavescens, wash the affected area with decoction, twice a day.
Hemorrhoids at the beginning: fresh portulaca should be cooked and eaten appropriately, and the affected area should be fumigated with soup for one month.
Flat warts: 5 grams of fresh purslane, 10 grams of honeycomb, add 500 ml of water to boil, fumigate and wash the affected area while it is hot.
Puerperal fever: 200 grams of fresh purslane and 100 grams of dandelion, decocted with water, 3 times a day, for 3 to 5 days, the effect can be seen.
Mosquito bites: Fresh purslane is mashed and juiced to coat the affected area, which has a good detoxification and pain relief effect.
