According to domestic and foreign surveys, 60 to 70% of adults suffer from hemorrhoids. Why are so many people suffering from hemorrhoids?
The motherland medicine has begun to study this issue very early. As early as 2,000 years ago, the famous Chinese medical classic "Huangdi Nei Jing" pointed out that it was related to irregular diet and frequent feelings of heat and humidity in daily life. Medical scientists in the Tang and Song Dynasties also pointed out that they were related to long-term stool tolerance, chronic diarrhea, excessive drinking, excessive addiction, qi deficiency in the elderly, pregnancy in women, and prolonged sitting for a long time. Modern medicine believes that the causes of hemorrhoids are as follows:
(1) It is related to the upright posture of humans. According to the survey, four-legged reptiles such as cows, horses, dogs, and rabbits cannot get hemorrhoids. Only upright humans are prone to hemorrhoids. So some people think that hemorrhoids are a unique disease after the evolution of reptiles into bipedal people. The argument is that although humans are erected, the evolution of the rectum and anus has not been developed to adapt to an erect posture. From an anatomical point of view, the superior rectal vein and its branches do not have venous valves. When returning from bottom to top through the muscularis of the rectum to the heart, under the influence of the attraction of the center of the earth, blood is prone to occur in the rectum and anus located in the lower part of the human body. Stasis, causing varicose veins, if you stay in this unchanged upright position for a long time, hemorrhoids will form. From a clinical point of view, people with liver cirrhosis, congestive heart disease, large abdominal tumors, emphysema, and other diseases that can cause lower pelvic congestion, as well as women after pregnancy, have blocked rectal blood due to fetal compression After the reflux, it is easy to cause varicose veins into hemorrhoids. These all reflect that obstruction of blood return is an important cause of hemorrhoids. The rectum and anus of reptiles are higher than the heart. Therefore, the blood flows back from top to bottom, and it is not easy to cause the obstruction of the backflow and the influence of the attraction of the earth to cause stagnation of blood in the rectum and anus. Therefore, animals do not have hemorrhoids.
(2) People with habitual constipation or difficulty in defecation related to bad bowel habits, or those who like to squat in the toilet to read books and newspapers, due to forced defecation, or squatting for too long, it is easy to cause congestion, compression, and veins in the rectum and anus. Varicose even relaxes or separates the rectal mucosa from the muscle layer and protrudes outside the anus, so it is prone to hemorrhoids.
(3) Related to infection Dysentery, enteritis, pinworms and other parasites, anorectal abscesses, anal fistulas, etc. can cause hemorrhoidal perivenous inflammation or hemorrhoidal endovenous inflammation, congestion and dilation of hemorrhoidal veins, and induce hemorrhoids. Drinking a lot of alcohol, addicted to spicy food, such as hot pepper, mustard, pepper, ginger and other irritating foods can also easily cause irritation of the rectal and anal mucosa, local congestion and burning pain, which can cause hemorrhoids or aggravate the condition.
The occurrence of hemorrhoids is often a combination of these factors. Children and young people rarely suffer from hemorrhoids. This may be because children and young people have good blood vessel elasticity and are in the process of development. In addition, they are lively and have a changeable posture, so it is not easy to form anal stagnation. Hemorrhoids are prone to get hemorrhoids in adulthood, and the older they get, the more they get sick. This may be related to the increase of people's age, the gradual hardening of blood vessels and the loss of elasticity, and the unwillingness to do more activities, or to engage in long-standing work.
